Privacy policy
This explains which information Adea processes about visitors and users, why, and for how long. We collect as little as we can.
1. Who is responsible
Marcus Wilstrup, VAT no. PT310292522, Rua da Fonte 85 B, Capride, 2785-371 São Domingos de Rana, Portugal ("Adea", "we") is the controller of the information this policy covers. Adea is established in Portugal. Write to us at privatliv@adea.io if you have questions.
If we transfer Adea to another company that we own or control, the information goes with it, and the new company becomes the controller. We will say so here before it happens.
2. Two roles: controller and processor
When a company uses Adea to ask questions about its own code and its own databases, that is the company's data. Adea is then a processor, and the processing follows the data processing agreement. This policy does not cover that part.
For information about you as a visitor, as a user of an account and as a customer of ours, Adea is the controller. That is what is described below.
3. What we process, and why
| Who | Information | Purpose | Basis | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Website visitors | Which pages are viewed, how far you scroll, which buttons you press, which source the visit came from (for example a search engine or an ad) and whether it was mobile or desktop. No IP address. | To understand what works on the pages and improve them. | Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) | 14 months |
| Visitors who try the demo company | The questions you ask, the answers and the time. We do not ask for your name or email address. | To show you how Adea works and answer your questions. | Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) | Until your copy of the demo is deleted, at the latest after 24 hours without activity |
| Users with an account | Email address, name, language, time of login and the settings you choose. | To give you access and send login links and messages you asked for. | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b) | As long as the account exists |
| Paying customers | Name and email of the payer, company name, company number, address and payment history. Only Stripe handles card details. | To collect payment and meet accounting rules. | Contract and legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) | 5 years after the end of the financial year |
| People who write to us | Your name, your email address and what you write. | To reply to you. | Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) | Up to 24 months after the last contact |
| People we contact about Adea | Name, job title, work email and phone, company and notes about our contact. We get them from the Danish company register (CVR), the company's website and LinkedIn. | To contact companies that Adea may be relevant for. | Legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) | 12 months after the last contact |
| Anyone who signs up for sub-processor notices | Email address, optionally company name, time and the text of the consent. | To notify about sub-processor changes, as the data processing agreement promises. | Consent, Art. 6(1)(a) | Until you unsubscribe |
We do not use the information for marketing emails unless you have explicitly said yes, and we do not sell it.
If we contact you about Adea, we tell you the first time where we got your details and that you can say no. If you say no, we stop straight away and keep only the fact that we may not contact you again. We do not contact companies that have opted out of marketing in the Danish company register.
Do not enter personal data in the demo company. It is for trying Adea on sample data.
4. Statistics without cookies
The website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser to recognise you. That is why we have no cookie banner. This is how we still count visits:
- When a page is shown, or you scroll, press a button or play the film, the page sends a small message to our own server. We use no third-party analytics and no advertising pixels.
- The server makes a short code from your IP address and details about your browser, mixed with a random key that changes every day. We do not store the IP address. The key is deleted after at most 36 hours, so today's code cannot be linked to tomorrow's and cannot be worked back to an IP address.
- We use the code only to count how many different visitors a page had within the same day. We never look at individuals, and the figures are only shown in aggregate.
- We store only the name of the website you came from, not the full address. If the link is tagged (for example with utm_source), we store the tags. If an ad click id is in the address, we only store that it was present, not the value.
- The page remembers in your tab that the logo's small animation has been shown (sessionStorage). It is not an identifier and never leaves your browser.
5. Cookies in Adea itself
When you log in or try the demo company, we set one necessary cookie that keeps you logged in. It is not used for statistics or advertising, and it does not need consent.
6. Who receives the information
We use selected suppliers for hosting, email, payment, AI and error monitoring. They process information on our instructions and are listed on the sub-processors page. Beyond them we only pass on information if the law requires it.
7. Transfers outside the EU
Our servers are in the EU. Some of the suppliers are in the USA. Transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you want a copy of the basis, write to us.
8. Your rights
You have the right to see which information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also ask us to restrict the processing, object to it and have your information handed over in a common format. If the processing relies on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Write to privatliv@adea.io. We reply within 30 days at the latest. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, or to the Portuguese Data Protection Authority, CNPD, as Adea is established in Portugal.
9. Security
We protect the information with encryption, access control and logging. You can read more on the security page.
10. Changes
If we change the policy in a material way, we will say so here and notify the account's administrators.
